Pearse Stadium
The original Pearse Stadium was offically opened on the 16th June 1957 by Uachtaran of C.L.G. Mr. Seamus Mac Fearain. The formal proceedings were followed by a hurling game between Galway and Tipperary and a football game between Galway, then reigning All Ireland football champions, and Kerry.
The new Stadium which was completed in May 2003 has a capacity of 34,000 and includes a 8,000 seater stand, 4 spacious dressing rooms, two warm-up areas, a medical room and state of the art press rooms.
In recent years it has also hosted a number of concerts including Bochelli, Bryan Adams and Bob Dylan. In 2006 the International Series versus Australia was played in Pearse Stadium which was the first time it took place outside GAA Headquarter Croke Park.
